About Us

My son came home from school proudly announcing that he was an Eco-Counsellor. A group designed to discuss eco-friendly and environmental issues within school and to consider global issues. Our conversations at home started to include how to reduce plastics, recycle more and be more aware of waste in our home. One of the worst culprits in our home was our bathroom. Plenty of plastic bottles of shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap. Since lockdown, like many households our soap use has increased. We used refillable bottles, but wouldn’t it be nice to remove the plastic altogether! So, I started researching how to make soap, trying melt and pour soaps and then moving on to cold process soap where I discovered a new love for soap making.

Originally just using the soaps at home, my children loved them! For the first time I didn’t have to chase them to wash their hands when they came home from school, they were racing to the bathroom to be the first to test the new soaps I put there. Proudly coming out to show me just how bubbly their hands were and regularly asking me to smell their freshly washed hands because they smelt so good.

Not only have we been able to remove some plastic from our home, but we also discovered an amazing bonus of using our handmade soaps has been that our hands are so soft and smooth now. The last couple of winters we have suffered with very sore, red, dry cracked skin on our hands, and we now have healthy, happy skin. They are no longer dry and sore, and we are hooked on our handmade soaps!

So, The Little Seaside Soap Company began, attempting to reduce plastics in our lives while enjoying the process of sustainability in our home.

After a lot of research, testing and putting our soaps through a cosmetic safety assessment, we are now ready to bring our soaps to you. We hope you love them as much as we do!
